2 of the best Christmas light displays are in New England, US News & World Report says

Strolling through a Christmas light show is a cherished tradition for anyone looking to get into the holiday spirit.

New England has its own contributions to some of the best Christmas light displays in the country.

U.S. News & World Report compiled a list of “The 28 Best Christmas Light Displays + Tours for 2024,” featuring two shows in New England.

Gardens Aglow at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (Boothbay, Maine)

This is the 10th year that Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is adorned in more than 750,000 lights for the holiday season. In addition to the gardens’ popular trolls — Roskva and Lilja — visitors will see glowing trees, mushrooms and shooting stars from walking through an enchanting forest. The display is up until New Year’s Eve. Information about tickets and visiting hours can be found online.

Glow Hartford (Hartford, Connecticut)

Glow Hartford is back at Connecticut Convention Center from now until Dec. 29. The display boast 1 million lights with interactive gardens, illuminated structures and more. There’s also a holiday market, family-friendly activities, live entertainment and seasonal food and beverages. Families can also get a free photo with Santa and ride the “Glow-comotive” train.
