California: In a robbery similar to that of a heist film, twenty masked men stormed PNG Jewellers’ store in Sunnyvale, California, and emptied it in less than three minutes on June 12. CCTV footage of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows the robbers, some in hoodies, breaking down the glass doors and rushing inside.

The robbers swiftly overpowered a lone security guard before spreading out across the store. Each appeared to have a pre-assigned target, as they systematically smashed the glass displays and filled their backpacks with jewellery. The entire incident was captured by the store’s security cameras, showing the heist.

According to local media reports, five suspects have been arrested so far, but police are still searching for the remaining perpetrators.

PNG Jewellers, headquartered in Pune, India, operates 35 stores across India, the US, and Dubai. The company was founded by Purshottam Narayan Gadgil and has grown from a single store to a global chain.

The raw video of the robbery has been widely shared on social media platforms. A caption accompanying the video on Twitter states, “Shocking video of a smash and grab robbery involving hammers and tools at Sunnyvale’s PNG Jewelers USA. Police say they’ve made five arrests and are looking for more suspects.”
