Wait, was that a Red Hulk? Marvel on Friday released the first teaser of Captain America: Brave New World with Anthony Mackie reprising his titular role of Sam Wilson wielding the iconic shield. The makers left fans in utter excitement with a glimpse of the new character in the first look of the much-awaited film, taking stakes higher.
Captain America: Brave New World Teaser
The teaser video opens with a new entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – actor Harrison Ford playing US President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. Sam, who picked up the shield after Chris Evan’s Steve Rogers hung up his superhero suit in Avengers: Endgame (2019), seems to still be struggling to wear his new identity. And in the midst of this, Ross offers him to become a US agent.

As Sam embarks on the role, he soon finds himself on a mission to stop an assassination attempt in the White House. The teaser ends with a smashing shot of Red Hulk dropping the Captain America shield, leaving viewers anticipating about the character and his expected fight against the Marvel superhero.
Who is Red Hulk?
According to the Marvel comics, Red Hulk is a gamma-irradiated monster who is the alter-ego of ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. In short, he is basically a bad Hulk, a character long speculated to make an appearance in the movie and who was already teased in the movie’s posters months ago.
Sam Wilson as the new Captain America
Sam Wilson, initially Falcon, was given the responsibility to don the shield by Steve Rogers before the latter retired as an Avenger. Sam struggled to accept his new role in his first standalone project – web series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+, where he teamed up with Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) against a group of super-soldier terrorists.
Bucky Barnes is presumabely not part of Captain America: Brave New World, since we did not see any shot of the character in the teaser.
