Leading Journalists to Discuss What’s Next for the U.S. and the World after Momentous 2024 Elections

The week after polls close in the U.S. in November, leading journalists will delve into the implications of this historic election year, in a special, on-stage conversation Nov. 14 at ICFJ’s 40th Anniversary Tribute to Journalists in Washington, D.C.

NBC News’ Meet the Press Moderator Kristen Welker, the emcee of this year’s awards gala, will lead the timely discussion, featuring:

• Peter Baker, chief White House correspondent for The New York Times;
• Eugene Daniels, POLITICO Playbook co-author and White House correspondent; and
• Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize laureate; co-founder and CEO of Rappler; professor of practice and IGP-affiliated faculty member, Columbia SIPA; and ICFJ board member.

At the gala, ICFJ will also recognize three outstanding international journalists. John-Allan Namu, a reporter and media entrepreneur from Kenya, and Valeriya Yegoshyna, an investigative reporter from Ukraine, will receive the 2024 ICFJ Knight International Journalism Award. Rana Sabbagh, a renowned investigative editor from Jordan, will be honored with the 2024 ICFJ Knight Trailblazer Award.
