Keiser University Maintains Top 25 Social Mobility Rank in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges ranking

Keiser University has upheld its position as one of the top 25 universities for promoting social mobility, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges ranking. This marks the fifth consecutive year Keiser University has earned a top 25 spot in the Best Colleges Social Mobility ranking where the university has been recognized for its efforts to foster upward mobility and support students from diverse economic backgrounds.

Moreover, Keiser University maintained its position among the best 300 universities in the nation in the National Universities category, reinforcing its mission to impact educational and personal development for students throughout Florida and the United States. Keiser University’s approach has helped close the gap for a broad spectrum of students by offering targeted student support services and degree programs in emerging and critical industries.

The U.S. News social mobility ranking assesses colleges and universities based on their ability to graduate economically disadvantaged students. The ranking considers the six-year graduation rate of Pell Grant recipients compared to non-Pell recipients, identifying institutions that make a notable impact on students’ outcomes.

The question of how well universities prepare low-income students for success has garnered attention in recent years with some universities receiving criticism for failing to create positive outcomes for disadvantaged students.

Keiser University has been considered one of the top institutions in the nation in providing social mobility since 2020, the first year U.S. News included a separate ranking for social mobility. In 2023, Keiser earned the top spot among all universities in the social mobility ranking. Last year, Keiser University took the No. 21 and was previously ranked No. 5 (2022), No. 11 (2021), and No. 34 (2020).

The 2023-24 U.S. News & World Report Best College rankings assess more than 1,800 U.S. bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on 19 metrics for National Universities, adding new ranking factors for first generation student graduation rates and faculty research. This year’s rankings also placed an increased weight placed on social mobility factors to calculate a school’s overall rankings. Other factors include class size, undergraduate academic reputation, and how much a school spends per student on instruction and other related educational expenses.

Keiser University enrolls approximately 20,000 students across 21 Florida, international, and online campuses. For nearly 50 years, the university has addressed Florida’s talent needs, with most of its academic degrees focused on industries identified as emerging or critically needed to support job growth in the state.
