Obama slams male Trump supporters at Philadelphia rally | World News – Times of India
Former President Barack Obama took to the stage in Philadelphia on Monday to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking at Temple University’s Liacouras Center, Obama focused much of his speech on criticizing former President Donald Trump, his message to Pennsylvania voters was clear: “Do not dilly or dally… get out there” on the final day of early voting.
Obama criticised Trump’s policies, including what he referred to as the “Muslim ban,” and Trump’s alleged comments calling fallen soldiers as “losers and suckers.” He also took aim at Trump’s male voters, saying, “I’ve noticed this, especially with some men, who see Trump’s behavior as a sign of strength—a fake macho thing.”
“Real strength is about working hard, taking responsibility, and telling the truth, even when it’s inconvenient. Real strength means treating everyone with dignity and respect, helping those in need, and standing up for others,” he added.
Mocking Trump’s reported sale of “Trump Bibles” made in China, Obama joked, “He wants you to follow the Word of God, Donald Trump edition,” adding that Trump’s approach felt like an “SNL” skit rather than a genuine commitment to American values.
“The man holds this big rally at Madison Square Garden, and the warmup speakers were saying – trotting out and peddling the most racist, sexist, bigoted stereotypes,” he said, at which point he went on to describe Kill Tony’s widely-criticized set.
When the crowd reacted with boos at Trump’s mention, Obama urged them to channel that energy into action, repeating, “Nobody can hear your boos, but they can hear your vote.”
