Kash Patel, President-elect Donald Trump‘s pick to lead the FBI, was targeted as part of an Iranian hack, according to a report. In recent months, members of Trump’s inner circle have been targeted by foreign hackers.

Patel was informed by the bureau that he had been targeted as part of an Iranian hack, reported CNN citing sources. According to the report, hackers had accessed some of Patel’s communications.

Trump transition spokesman Alex Pfeiffer refused to comment on the issue. “Kash Patel was a key part of the first Trump administration’s efforts against the terrorist Iranian regime and will implement President Trump’s policies to protect America from adversaries as the FBI Director,” Pfeiffer told CNN in a statement.

Earlier, Todd Blanche, one of Trump’s lead attorneys and now his pick to be deputy attorney general, was reportedly targeted by foreign hackers. Blanche’s cellphone was tapped by Chinese hackers, said a CNN report. However, the Chinese government has denied the allegations.

Trump Picks Kash Patel To Lead FBI

US President-elect Donald Trump nominated his loyalist Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Making the announcement, the 78-year-old Republican leader called Patel an “America First fighter”.

” I am proud to announce that Kashyap “Kash” Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawytargeter, investigator, and “America First” fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People,” Trump posted on Saturday night on Truth Social

A Trump loyalist, Patel has often been public in his scepticism of government surveillance and the “deep state” — a pejorative catchall used by Trump to refer to government bureaucracy.

Kash Patel’s Plan To Reshape Bureau

Kash Patel has revealed over the last year in interviews and his own book that the century-old FBI should be radically overhauled. “I’d shut down the FBI Hoover Building on day one and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state,'” Patel said in an interview on the ‘Shawn Ryan Show’ that aired in September. “Then, I’d take the 7,000 employees that work in that building and send them across America to chase down criminals. Go be cops. You’re cops- go be cops.”
