At least 31 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes across Gaza overnight Monday and into Tuesday, according to local officials.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, 12 people were killed including women and children, and dozens of others injured by an airstrike that leveled three floors of a residential building in the Al-Manara neighborhood, according to the Gaza European Hospital.

In central Gaza, four airstrikes from Israeli helicopters killed eight, including four children, and left multiple people with severe burns in the Deir Al-Balah area, according to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Five people were killed and at least five injured in Gaza City in two separate attacks, according to Gaza Civil Defense.

An airstrike hit a building belonging to the Skeik family on Al-Wehda Street in the central part of the city, killing one woman and injuring five others.

Four children were killed in an attack on Tuesday morning by an Israeli airstrike on a house belonging to the Abu Al-Sha’ar family in the eastern area of Gaza City.

Mohammad Bashir Al-Tolmes, a journalist working for the Palestinian Press Agency, known as Safa, died after sustaining a serious injury from an Israeli airstrike on the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City on Monday, according to Safa.

The killings come after weeks of punishing Israeli strikes across the Palestinian territory.

On Monday, Israeli strikes killed at least 45 people, according to the director of a hospital in Gaza City.

Women and children were among the dead and many others had been injured, Dr. Fadel Naim, of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, told CNN, adding that the hospital had been overwhelmed and had insufficient supplies to treat the wounded.
