US President-elect Donald Trump has invited a diverse array of global leaders and tech giants to his inauguration ceremony, which is scheudled to take place on January 20.

Trump has extended invitation to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentinian President Javier Milei, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Representing India, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will be present. Notably, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who was ousted from office, has also been invited. Far-right French politician Eric Zemmour is also on the guest list.

While Chinese President Xi Jinping is invited, he is not expected to attend in person. Instead, he is likely to send a senior envoy, potentially Han Zheng or Foreign Minister Wang Yi, though confirmation is pending.

Tech Giants’ Financial Backing

Major tech firms are playing a significant role in financing the inauguration, with Meta, Amazon, and OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman each contributing $1 million. The inaugural committee, spearheaded by the Trump-Vance team, has already secured over $170 million in funding, with expectations of exceeding $200 million.

Tech Titans in Attendance

The inauguration will see a notable presence from the tech sector, including:

Several companies, including Uber, Elon Musk’s X, and The Free Press, are planning to host an inauguration party in Washington.

VIP Pass Shortages

The immense interest in the inauguration has resulted in a shortage of VIP passes for major donors. The New York Times reports that invitations linked to high-value contributions have been deactivated, despite initial assurances that sales would continue until Friday. As a result, those seeking to attend will need to secure general admission tickets through congressional offices.

Initially, top-tier donors contributing $1 million or more were promised six premium tickets to various inaugural events. However, due to limited availability, adjustments have been made to ticket distribution.
