Donald Trump on cusp of US election victory – entertainment world reacts

Figures from the entertainment world have been sharing their reactions to Donald Trump being on the cusp of victory in the 2024 US presidential election.

The Republican nominee and former POTUS currently needs just one more state to officially take him over the winning threshold of 270 electoral college votes, according to BBC News.

This would secure his return to the White House, beating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump would be the first ex-President to go back to the role in more than 130 years.

However, Harris has not yet conceded. She was scheduled to address the US last night (Tuesday November 5), but has postponed her speech until today (Wednesday November 6).

In a speech earlier today, Trump told his supporters: “This will truly be the golden age of America – that’s what we have to have.

“This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”

Reactions from the worlds of music and entertainment have since started rolling in across social media.

Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer shared the following statement: “Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.

“As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.”

He continued: “From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.”

Sharing a clip of Trump on TV, Joe Rogan wrote on X/Twitter: “WHOLE. LEE. SHIT.”

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart said: “I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”

Actor, comedian and singer Bette Midler shared a quote from the late US journalist, satirist, and cultural critic H. L. Mencken: “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Russell Brand said: “DONALD TRUMP WON.”
