Fremantle, Pluto TV Expand FAST Channel Partnership Worldwide

Fremantle and Paramount’s Pluto TV have signed a global deal to distribute 25 FAST (free, ad-supported streaming TV) channels across 13 countries, mostly beyond North America.

The expanded partnership will see 24 ad-supported streaming Pluto TV channels bow in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Italy, San Marino, Demark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and the UK. Besides launching the new channel, Escape to the Country, in the UK, the Three’s Company channel will launch in Canada, for the first time beyond the U.S. market.

Pluto TV users will also get 24/7 broadcasts of classic TV shows like Baywatch, Supermarket Sweep, Family Feud Classic, Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right: Bob Barker, The Price is Right: Drew Carey, Alarm Fur Cobra, Project Runway, Prisoner and Jamie Oliver.

“Pluto TV’s state of the art platform provides a seamless streaming experience for viewers and makes it the perfect home for our channels. This is the next stage of our valued partnership with Pluto TV, as we continue to evolve our FAST strategy and content delivery for our global audience,” Laura Florence, senior vp of global fast channels at Fremantle, said in a statement.

The deal with Fremantle has allowed Pluto TV — an early competitor in the FAST field — to gain streaming TV market share on the backs of offering classic TV shows.

“We are beyond excited to expand the Fremantle content offering on Pluto TV across international markets. Pluto TV’s mission to offer lean-back entertainment for fans around the world harnesses the spirit of content like Escape to the Country and Three’s Company, which are perfect for people to gather to watch from the comfort of their living rooms,” Katrina Kowalski, senior vp of international content and acquisitions for Pluto TV at Paramount, said in her own statement.

Fremantle’s FAST TV business currently has 24 channels across North America, Europe and Australia.
