George Clooney and Brad Pitt ‘Feeling Hopeful’ About 2024 Presidential Election: ‘Momentum Is a Big Deal’

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are optimistic about the upcoming presidential election, which is less than 50 days away.

“I’m feeling very hopeful,” Clooney told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the “Wolfs” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. “Feeling hopeful,” Pitt chimed in.

Vice President Kamala Harris will go head-to-head with former President Donald Trump as U.S. citizens cast their votes in the Nov. 5 election.

“Momentum is a big deal,” Clooney explained, “so I’m feeling hopeful.”

Clooney made headlines on July 10 for publishing an op-ed in The New York Times, in which he urged President Joe Biden to end his campaign following his performance in the presidential debate against Trump. The Oscar winner noted in his op-ed that Democrats had been “all so terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we’ve opted to ignore every warning sign” when it came to Biden’s aging.

“We are not going to win in November with this president,” he wrote about Biden then. “On top of that, we won’t win the House, and we’re going to lose the Senate. This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and congress member and governor that I’ve spoken with in private. Every single one, irrespective of what he or she is saying publicly.”

After Biden announced on July 21 that he was dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris as the Democratic nominee, Clooney publicly shared his support for Harris.

“President Biden has shown what true leadership is,” Clooney said in a statement in July. “He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”

Clooney and Pitt walked the red carpet at the premiere of “Wolfs,” their latest film together. In the action-comedy film, the two actors play professional fixers forced to work together after being tasked with the same assignment. The cast also includes Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, Poorna Jagannathan and Richard Klein.

“Wolfs” premieres Sept. 27 on Apple TV+.
