Harvest Moon Prep, by Holiday Mathis

The swollen moon slips into psychic Pisces where she will be full tomorrow and harvested in a lunar eclipse, only to emerge humming the final notes of the season. It’s an excellent moment to reflect on the idea of harvesting and what you have grown and sown in your own life. Which seeds would you plant again? What crops would you attempt next?

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Frustrated people will express themselves with too much directness or candor without understanding the impact. Because you’ve been that person before, you know just the smooth way to minimize the damage or avoid it altogether.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The peacemakers can also make other things happen such as production, commerce, social welfare and joyful moments. You’re intent on understanding where people are coming from so you can help everyone get along.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You act calm and soon you really become it. You’ll practice this today, not because something alarming happens but because your inner world is excitable and in need of a creative outlet. So, what will it be?

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Kindness is your norm. Even when the people around you are being unreasonable and confusing, you’ll still show compassion. You are intent on understanding other people’s processes because it’s the way to help everyone get along.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The aim of the race may be to cross a finish line, but most days are not a race; they are a song. Today’s song has a forgettable fade-out of an ending. All the fun is in the loops, builds, hooks and dynamic repeats throughout.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Bitter and sweet can exist together, and so can joy and pain, but some combinations are impossible. For instance, you can’t stay the same while changing. Today, you’ll experience complex possibilities. You’ll also come up against simple limitations.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). People tend to glorify the hustle, but you’re not so sure. You’re willing to sweat and toil when that’s needed, but you’re also open to a world where it’s not. It’s OK for some things to come easily.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You’ll get more accomplished without putting in more time because you’re hitting your groove and figuring things out. Your eye has never been more tuned to efficiency, and you’ll know just what to maximize and cut to be most productive.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll do some high-level problem-solving. Play devil’s advocate. Imagine different paths. Change your mind, just as an exercise. You’re not trapped. You have, in fact, more options than you knew of yesterday.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). The people who can make you laugh win a place in your heart and a free pass to get away with so much more than others do because humor seems to make its own rules. Big smiles earn wide margins of error.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’re smart. You know it, but you don’t need everyone to, which makes you both intellectually and emotionally intelligent. There’s no need to prove yourself. Key people know already, and the others have to come to it on their own.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). The question keeps coming back: What do we owe each other? Today, it will extend to strangers, society at large and even the animal kingdom. Does your answer stay the same or evolve with you?

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Sept. 16). Greatness is your destiny. The people who need you will change your trajectory in a direction more favorable than you ever could imagine. You’ll blend rational thought and compassionate feeling to brilliant results. You’ll move people with works of passion and intuition. More highlights: a bountiful gift from the blue that you’ll share with hundreds. Gemini and Cancer adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 40, 1, 33, 8 and 14.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Considered the more serious sibling of the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas flexes his comedy chops this year with a return to movies, first as a pastor in the upcoming Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon comedy “You’re Cordially Invited” followed by the musical comedy “Power Ballad” with Paul Rudd. The natal chart of Jonas features six luminaries in earth signs. He’s exceptionally grounded with a head for business and the stamina for career longevity.
