HPU Again Earns Three #1 Rankings from U.S. News & World Report
HPU tops the list for #1 Best Regional College, Most Innovative College and Best Undergraduate Teaching in the South
HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 24, 2024 – High Point University has earned three #1 rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 “Best Colleges” edition, marking the 13th consecutive year the university has earned top honors.
In the latest U.S. News & Report rankings, which were released today, HPU is honored as:
- #1 Best Regional College in the South for the 13th consecutive year
- #1 Most Innovative Regional College in the South for the 10th consecutive year
- #1 Best Undergraduate Teaching for Regional Colleges in the South for a second consecutive year
In addition, HPU has been ranked #50 nationally for Best First-Year Experiences.
HPU received the latest accolades only a month after it was named the #1 Best-Run College in the nation by The Princeton Review in “The Best 390 Colleges: 2025 Edition.” The university earned three more Top 10 national rankings from The Princeton Review for Best College Dorms (#6), Best Career Services (#9) and Most Active Student Government (#9), as well as placing #18 nationally for Best Campus Food and Most Beautiful Campus.
“At High Point University, our focus remains on providing students with an extraordinary education at The Premier Life Skills University,” said HPU President Nido Qubein. “We appreciate these national rankings and the recognition that our dedicated faculty and staff are receiving for their hard work, and we also remain committed to supporting our students’ personal and professional growth to prepare them for success after graduation.”
U.S. News & World Report has ranked HPU’s physician assistant master’s degree program as #65 among the nation’s Best Physician Assistant Programs. In April, HPU’s physical therapy doctoral degree program was ranked #74 nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings.
This is shaping up to be a banner year for HPU. The university celebrated its centennial anniversary on Sept. 14 and welcomed the largest group of new students (1,650) and the largest total enrollment (6,335) in school history this fall. HPU defied national trends by growing enrollment nearly 5% overall.
In addition, HPU opened three new academic schools for the 2024-25 academic year — the Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law, the Workman School of Dental Medicine and the David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship. Since Qubein was named HPU’s president in January of 2005, the university has expanded from three academic schools to 13 and plans to add a 14th school in the future with the opening of North Carolina’s only School of Optometry.
