Husband of missing San Antonio mom is charged with her murder

The husband of a San Antonio woman who has been missing for a month has been charged with murder.

Brad Simpson is charged in the death of Suzanne Simpson, 51, a mother of four who was last seen outside her home in San Antonio on Oct. 7 by her neighbor, officials have said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety provided no additional details Thursday in announcing the charges. Officials will hold a news conference Friday afternoon.

Authorities have not publicly announced that Suzanne Simpson’s body has been found.

Simpson was arrested Oct. 10 on charges of family violence, according to court records.

No one with the Bexar County’s public defender’s office, which was representing Simpson, could immediately be reached for comment Thursday night.

NBC affiliate WOAI reported that neighbors called police last month because they heard the couple arguing.

A police report obtained by the station said a neighbor saw the couple physically fighting. The neighbor also later heard yelling coming from nearby woods.

A federal complaint was filed against Simpson the day after he was arrested last month. He is accused of unlawfully possessing a short-barrel rifle that was not registered to him, according to the complaint.
