kfc loss: Is the iconic Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC struggling to stay in business?
How did KFC’s doom begin?
The company that began after being anointed by the ‘Colonel’, Harland David Sanders, has seen a major downward slide for some time now, but its doom was destined since the ’60s, when Colonel Sanders sold this now widely popular fried chicken business. Even though it is a multi-tiered corporation now with branches across different nations, things are not appearing to be all good for this US-based business.

KFC’s decline has a rich history
KFC began falling through the cracks significantly from the year 2010s, and major competition from other outlets is majorly responsible for this constant market decline for this multinational chain. Moreover, its traditional business model and strategy has been a reason for not being able to scale its business, making it a major issue for it to keep up with its stiff competition, not only in the US, but also in countries like India, UK, and others, where KFC was once the most sought after brand in terms of fried chicken recipes.
Poor sales a major cause for concern
Poor sales across the globe is the currently the worst headache for KFC as standard sales is necessary at this point to recover and scale up the overall business, in order to stay afloat. However, poor sales have led to a shutdown of multiple outlets across the United States and parts of the world, and the pandemic has also played its part for the last two years, worsening the scenario for the business.
