Microsoft Global Outage: Biggest IT crash hits airlines, banks

The stock market exchanges released a joint statement on Saturday of all exchanges on the global outrage of Microsoft systems.

The Indian exchanges have stated that all stock market exchanges in India were not much affected by the outrage and functioned without any impact.

“On July 19, 2024, there was a global outage of Microsoft Systems. This outage has been reported to have caused disruptions across various sectors globally. In India, all Exchanges and Clearing Corporations functioned without any impact” said a joint statement by Indian stock exchanges.

Microsoft Global Outage Live Updates: The Paris Olympics organising committee said that its operations are “now running normally” after a global IT outage which affected some of its computer servers.

“All of Paris 2024’s operations are now running normally, following this morning’s global IT issue, which had temporarily affected a limited number of our own IT services,” it said.

US federal agencies are still affected by the massive technology outage after a flawed software update by CrowdStrike disrupted global computer networks. Some staff at the FBI and Department of Justice were met with a Windows error screen and Justice Department officials were working on a fix but didn’t know when that would come.

Microsoft Global Outage Live Updates: Finance, airlines and health were the major sectors impacted by the global outage. Bankers at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Nomura Holdings Inc. and Bank of America Corp. could not login, employees across US federal agencies also faced a Windows error screen. Doctors at the UK’s National Health Service also couldn’t access scans.

Microsoft Global Outage Live Updates: SpiceJet said, “We are happy to inform you that the issue has been resolved now and communication regarding the flight disruption is being sent on a real-time basis on the registered contact details via SMS, Email, and IVR calling. We appreciate your understanding in this regard.”

Microsoft Global Outage Live Updates: CrowdStrike is facing its worst week since November 2022 due to a major IT outage that has impacted businesses worldwide. The company’s hares fell by 9%, contributing to a nearly 16% decline for the week.
