‘Newest Fashion Trend’: Trump Supporters Wear Bandages On Ears To Show Solidarity – VIDEO
Several people attending the Republican National Convention In Milwaukee on Tuesday wore makeshift bandages on their ears to show their solidarity with Trump, who was recently wounded in the ear by a bullet in a failed assassination attempt that took place last week.
Many people were seen on both Monday and Tuesday sporting red “Make America Great Again” t-shirts and make-shift ear coverings after Trump was seen wearing a bandage on his ear on Monday, according to a report by USA Today.
Joe Neglia, a 63-year-old delegate from Tempe, Arizona, told CBS News at the RNC that the bandages were the “newest fashion trend”.
Neglia explained to a reporter from The Guardian why he was wearing the bandage on his ear.
“It’s just in sympathy with Donald Trump,” Neglia said. “I saw that man get shot, I thought that man has almost given his life for his country, he deserves some respect for that.”
The RNC marked Trump’s first public appearance since the failed assassination attempt at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
One attendee at the rally was killed, and two others were critically wounded, the Secret Service said. Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old gunman, was quickly shot dead by Secret Service snipers.
“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform after the shooting. “We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.”
