There were reports of gunfire near the A&T University campus in Greensboro, North Carolina on Thursday.

The Greensboro Police Department along with the North Carolina A&T University Police Department are on the scene, NBC North Carolina affiliate WXII reported citing a university official. The latest update from the scene states that it has been cleared and no shooter or shell casing has been found at the scene.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon with the A&T University campus police posting on X about an “emergency situation” about three miles away from the campus near Cornwallis Drive and Yanceyville Street at around 2:20 p.m. local time.

Greensboro Police department that reports of shots being fired near 21000 Yanceyville Street, starting around 1:46 p.m., per the WXII report.
