Taken As Hostage! Blackpink’s Jennie SHADES Former Label YG Entertainment In New Song

Blackpink’s Jennie SHADES Former Label YG Entertainment In New Song

Blackpink‘s Jennie has had enough! The SOLO rapper finally decided it’s time to call out her former label YG Entertainment and slam haters.

Blackpink’s Jennie disses YG Entertainment and haters

On June 20, Jennie took fans by surprise when she dropped a snippet of one of her unknown songs for a Beats Solo Buds ad. While the lyrics of the song seemed like that of any other empowering track at first, fans were quick to realize that the Blackpink star was dissing her old label YG Entertainment as well haters in the new snippet.

“Taken for granted, Taken for hostage, Carried the Baggage, Carried the past us, As luck would have it, Future was written, They didn’t plan for women to woman up,” the lyrics go.

For the unversed, Jennie has often talked about her love for songwriting. However, YG Entertainment would allegedly not allow her to purse it or would not credit her for lyrics in Blackpink’s hit tracks. Furthermore, Blackpink did not release music often during their 7 years long career, despite the members’ wishes.

Following her departure, the rapper Jennie dropped Slow Motion with Matt Champion and SPOT with Zico.

A few weeks back, reports claimed that Jennie would be making her first solo comeback with an album in June. However, just hours later, a representative from Jennie’s solo label stated, “We are planning to work on a new song. However, there has been no discussion on the release date or whether it will be a single or EP.”
