U.S. News & World Report recently released its ranking of New Jersey’s best elementary schools, and five Central Jersey schools are in the top 25.
Washington Elementary School in Westfield came in at No. 3 on the list. According to the list, the student population at the school is 263 and the school serves grades 1-5. 87% of its students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 92% scored at or above that level for reading. The school’s minority student enrollment is 27%. The student-teacher ratio is 12:1, which is the same as that of the district. The student population is made up of 54% female students and 46% male students. The school enrolls 1% economically disadvantaged students. There are 22 equivalent full-time teachers and 0 full-time school counselors.
Ranking No. 7 is Lincoln-Hubbard Elementary School in Summit.
