Toys”R”Us wants to make July 20 a global holiday

Toys”R”Us will celebrate Play Day on July 20.

Toys”R”Us is launching a new holiday that it plans to celebrate at its locations across the globe.

Described as “a worldwide celebration dedicated to the power of play,” Play Day will take place on July 20 at Toys”R”Us locations around the world, including the brand’s in-store shops at Macy’s, and online.

Play Day will feature activities and events, both in-store and online, including the “Pledge To Play,”  an online form that customers can sign committing themselves to “prioritize play in daily life” and to spending “meaningful time with those I love and doing things that make me happy.”  The pledge signers will receive a year of content, play ideas with product recommendations, giveaways and discounts.

As part of the celebration, Toys”R”Us kids “of all ages” will parade through select Toys”R”Us locations. Other Play Day activities include special discounts, giveaways, chances to win prizes, photo opportunities with Geoffrey the Giraffe and more.

Macy’s will host special events at select Toys”R”Us in-store shops at its locations on Play Day.
