U.S. News & World Report gives KC-area hospital award for maternity care
NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – For the third consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report named North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health recipients of an award for maternal care.
The hospital was added to U.S. News’ Best Hospital for Maternity Care list and gave its top rating of “High Performing in Maternity Care” for 2025.
“We are proud to maintain this recognition as one of the best maternity hospitals in the nation,” said Catherine Bonderer, the senior director of Maternal Child Health. “Our obstetrics, neonatal and pediatrics teams continually elevate expectations for family-centered care. Their dedication to providing expectant mothers with a safe and care-focused experience is inspiring.”
The list was developed by U.S. News providing a nationwide survey that evaluated labor and delivery hospitals on quality measures.
North Kansas City Hospital was rated excellent at minimizing avoidable C-sections, with those posing long-term health risks to the mother and baby.
