UMGCCC reacts to top-50 ranking in U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report recently released it’s rankings for the nation’s top cancer centers. Among them, and in the top 50 was the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC). It also ranked second across the state of Maryland and on a Tuesday edition of Fox45 Morning News, Executive Director Dr. Taofeek Kunle Owonikoko spoke to Tom Rodgers about the honor.

“To have this independent assessment of your cancer center and for it to say you are one of the best in the nation actually gives you that objective assessment that you are doing what you are expected to do,” Owonikoko said. “And you are competing with your peers, not just locally in [Baltimore] or in [Maryland], but nationwide.
