UPMC Harrisburg is ranked No. 8 among Pennsylvania hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
Hospitals were analyzed by U.S. News & World Report based on several factors, including hospital volume, patient safety, and outcomes. In addition, U.S. News & World Report surveyed responses from physicians on hospitals’ reputations for delivering high-quality care.
Located in downtown Harrisburg, UPMC Harrisburg is a full-service acute care hospital with 422 beds. The hospital serves as the hub for the UPMC network, providing care to residents throughout southcentral Pennsylvania.
The UPMC Harrisburg campus is home to the Alex Grass Medical Sciences Building, which includes Bone, Joint, and Spine Institutes; laboratory services; maternal fetal medicine; and select medical rehab services.
UPMC Harrisburg has achieved four consecutive Magnet designations from the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. Per a release, Magnet Recognition is one of the highest achievements a hospital can obtain in professional nursing.
U.S. News & World Report ranked UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside No. 7 nationally in adult specialties and No. 1 in Pittsburgh. UPMC Mercy is ranked No. 13 nationally for rehabilitation, and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital No. 24 for obstetrics and gynecology.
