What Kamala Harris said about Biden’s ‘mental capacity’ | World News – Times of India
During an interview on Wednesday with Fox News‘ Bret Baier, questions arose about President Biden‘s mental capacity.
Baier brought up the fact that Vice President Harris had previously told several interviewers that Biden was sharp and often outpaced his staff. He then asked when she had first noticed any signs of a decline in the President’s mental faculties.
After a brief pause, Harris responded by emphasising Biden’s abilities in office. She explained that, from her observations in settings like the Oval Office and the Situation Room, Biden had consistently shown the judgement and experience necessary to make important decisions on behalf of the American people.
Baier pressed further, asking if there had ever been any concerns raised about Biden’s mental state, to which Harris shifted focus, pointing out that Joe Biden wasn’t the one on the ballot, but Donald Trump was.
Baier then referred to comments made by actor George Clooney in a New York Times op-ed, where Clooney had implied that Biden wasn’t quite the same person he had once known after a recent fundraiser. He questioned whether, given Harris’s regular meetings with Biden over three years, she had never had any concerns about his mental acuity.
Harris again redirected the conversation, suggesting that it was Trump who concerned the American people. She mentioned that national security leaders and those who had worked closely with Trump, both in the Oval Office and the Situation Room, had spoken out, calling him unfit and dangerous. She also highlighted that even Trump’s former vice president had voiced such concerns, which, she said, explained why Trump had to choose a new running mate.
