The United States won the 2024 tournament, interrupting a potential three-peat from Canada’s side. This year, Canada has the home-ice advantage and will look to add another gold medal to its trophy case.

This matchup is the last game of the opening round before teams advance to the knockout stages. Canada and the United States each have two wins and one overtime loss. Both are tied for the lead in the Group A.

The United States had an 18-9 goal differential, while Canada posts a 9-3 differential.
